 WINE SALES AND SERVICE – A PERFECT MATCH  

 

     

COURSE CONTENT: When  a  customer  asks  you  for  a medium-dry    wine   do  you know which wines may be offered from your list?  When a customer asks for a wine to compliment his fish main-course are you knowledgeable and confident enough to offer a red wine?  If not, this 6-hour (1 day) tutor-led course has been developed specifically for you as a wine service provider in the Hospitality Industry.

                        The course aims to enhance your current skill level, in order to increase customer service concentrating on increasing knowledge level of  wines on the list offered in your establishment.

                                        By the end of this one-day course you will be able to categorise your wine list into style and prominent grape variety as well as understanding the techniques involved in matching food and wine successfully.  You will also develop a list of at least 3 wines from the wine list in operation at your place of work, which will match each dish item from your current menus.

                              To maximise the effectiveness of your newly acquired knowledge, you will be taken through the use of ‘tried and tested’ techniques on how to recommend and ‘upsell’ to your customers, so as to improve their overall meal experience, increase the revenue in your place of work and further promote your own career.

 

COURSE FRAMEWORK:  

                     ONE SESSION:

·        Integration Throughout Session of Theory and Practical Activities

·        Product Knowledge: Understanding Your Wine List and the Range of Wines Offered

·        Product Knowledge: How to Successfully Match Food and Wine

·        Practical Workshop: Categorising Wine and Matching Food and Wine Using the Wine Lists and Menus in Your Place of Work

·        Practical Workshop: Service of Red, White and Sparkling Wines

·        Recommending/Upselling Exercise: Skills and Tested Techniques to Transform Potential Sales into Revenue

·        Practical Workshop: Role Play Exercises to Further Promote Sales Training

 

  COURSE FEES:        £350.00  (in-house). Cost includes course development and                                            delivery, supplementary support materials and all wines for the tasting.  A discount of £50.00 is applicable if wines are provided for tasting by the establishment - maximum of 8 wines required.   Extra wines may be incorporated if desired by the establishment.

COURSE STYLE:      Interactive, semi-formal sessions.  Some   previous experience                                            preferred but not essential. Minimum  attendees – 6.  Maximum                                            attendees - 18.
